Challenges Facing Music Students' Teachers During Teaching Practice Exercise: A Review Of Adeyemi College Of Education Music Students Teacher's Experience

Abstract - The purpose of the study is to identify the challenges facing music student teachers during their teaching practice exercise. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study while the population consisted of fifty (50) students from the Department of music, Adeyemi College of Education Ondo. A structured questionnaire which consisted of twenty-eight (28) items in four sections was used to elicit information from the respondents. The data collected from the investigation were analyzed using percentages. The result of the study reveals that student teachers experience several challenges during teaching practice exercises such as classroom management, environmental challenges, curriculum development, instruction and supervisory challenges. Based on the findings, it was recommended that proper attention should be given to class management in order to achieve the specific objective, students teachers should be provided with lodging accommodation by the practicing schools, adequate curriculum guidelines, facilities, and reference materials such as textbooks should be made available, students teachers should be sent to high-quality schools with enabling learning environment.
