Abstract - The aim of this paper is to demonstrate the application of two contemporary theoretical frameworks in the analysis of musical works - Michael Spitzer's appraisal theory of musical emotions and Lawrence Zbikowski's adaptation of conceptual blending theory for the study of musical meanings - through a case study of The Eyes of that Little One (lyrics: Agnieszka Osiecka; music: Zygmunt Konieczny). The selected frameworks also provide methodological guidance for structuring analysis and interpretation.
