Abstract - The role of popular music and artists in politics took center stage with a new headliner in 2024 U.S. election. In the past, what songs to play at rallies and did the artist give permission or not was the focus. In this election, what artist is endorsing what candidate was in the spotlight with their fans in the audience. Some fans believe that music artists, particularly those with large followings, have a responsibility to speak out on political matters and causes, especially when they have the platform to make a difference. In an era where social media amplifies voices and movements, rock stars have the potential to inspire and lead social change. Fans who agree with these views often look to their favourite artists to reflect their values, raise awareness about critical issues, and challenge the political the status quo. On the other hand, there are fans who feel that music should remain a form of escape, separate from the often, divisive world of politics. These fans argue that they turn to music to escape the tension of everyday life.
