Abstract - Indigenous voices of each country are a significant part of the cultural features in that realm. What we have listened to since childhood, has formed our auditory taste and our auditory culture. The purpose of this paper is to design and develop a Learning Package (LP) and investigate its effectiveness on acquainting children with Iranian Folk Music (IFM). At the first stage of research an analytical-documentary method is employed and based on authentic resources (documentary and auditory) an LP named as "Torgheh" is designed and developed. The effectiveness of the LP is investigated at the second stage through quasi-experimental method with two groups of 15 Iranian children (male and female) in the experimental (E) and control (C) groups. Both groups have 6 training sessions, group E by the LP and group C by teacher's usual method; pre-test and post-test also execute for each group. The data of pre-test and post-test of both groups are analyzed by analysis of covariance (ANOVA) and SPSS24 software. The results indicate the post-test scores of the groups E and C show a statistically significant difference at the confidence level of 0.05, confirmed with 95% confidence, and the LP has a positive effect on acquainting the learners with IFM.
